Spring Break is over for Texas high school students, and for many juniors, the focus now turns to the college admissions process. For the vast majority of Texas high school students, that means registering for the SAT.

The Texas Education Agency recently announced it will help students get ready for college this spring by covering SAT registration fees for every Junior at Texas Public Schools or charter schools. The SAT is the most widely used college entrance exam in Texas, and students will be able to take the test for free on either May 1 or June 5th.

Ann Wright in the Austin office of the College Board, talks about the process…

“Students can obtain an SAT voucher from their guidance counselor and use the voucher number to register online at S-A-T Dot Collegeboard Dot com. Students with College Board accounts who received a voucher number via email should use that number to register. If a school does not have vouchers, students should call SAT Customer Service for assistance.”
