Raising Money Thru Twitter To Help Slow the Melt
National Geographic Polar Fund Getting Funds for Tweets
When it comes to protecting our planet, the catch phrase, Save It For Our Children, keeps coming into play. National Geographic Kids and the Popsicle brand have joined forces to educate kids on what they can do to decrease the impact of global warming.
The initiative, called Slow the Melt, will use Twitter to both spread the word and help raise money for the National Geographic Polar Fund. From July 12 through August 15, Popsicle will be monitoring for tweets that include the hash tag, Slow The Melt. For every qualifying hash tag, Popsicle will donate one dollar to National Geographic's Polar Fund, up to $25,000, to support research and exploration efforts of the polar ice caps and other global warming issues.
